Yes, this OSFP-800G-2xVR4 optical module can be connected to two 400G VR4 optical modules via two 12-core multimode fiber patch cords.

Can 400G OSFP modules be used for 800G OSFP ports?

Yes, 800G OSFP ports are backward compatible with 400G OSFP as long as the physical form factor is compatible.

My network card is CX6 Q56 200G. Can I use an OSFP-800G-2xVR4 module to connect to a Q56-200G-VR4 module?

OSFP 800G cannot be split into four connections to QSFP56 200G; because OSFP 800G is 100G per lane, while QSFP56 200G is 50G per lane. We recommend using the OSFP-400G-2×VR4 module to connect two Q56-200G-SR4 modules. Alternatively, you can use a CX7 Q112 interface network card with a Q112-400G-VR4 module to downgrade to 200G, then connect to the OSFP 800G module to achieve a four-port configuration.
