Description

Cisco OSFP-800G-VR8 Compatible Broadcom DSP & Broadcom VCSEL OSFP-800G-2xVR4 OSFP PAM4 Optical Transceiver Module, Support 800GBASE-VR8 (MMF, 850nm, 30m/50m, Dual MTP/MPO-12 APC, DDM)

NADDOD Cisco OSFP-800G-VR8 Compatible OSFP-800G-2xVR4 optical transceiver is designed for 800Gb/s Ethernet interconnects, featuring a twin-port OSFP architecture that supports 2×400Gb/s VR8 multimode transmission over an 8-channel parallel optical interface. The module operates via two MPO-12/APC connectors, each carrying four optical lanes at 400Gb/s. Built-in Broadcom DSP & Broadcom VCSEL, the module is compatible with Cisco N9364E-SG2-O switch.

The Twin-port VR8 design integrates two internal transceiver engines, enabling 64 ports of 400Gb/s in a 32-OSFP cage switch and supporting breakout configurations for flexible 400G-to-800G deployment. It provides seamless short-distance interconnects between 800G switches and 200G/400G network cards, making it ideal for high-density, high-performance, and scalable server-to-switch and rack-level deployments in next-generation AI data centers.

Questions & Answers

Ask a Question
Q:
Can this module be connected to 400G modules?
A:
Yes, this OSFP-800G-2xVR4 optical module can be connected to two 400G VR4 optical modules via two 12-core multimode fiber patch cords.
Q:
Can 400G OSFP modules be used for 800G OSFP ports?
A:
Yes, 800G OSFP ports are backward compatible with 400G OSFP as long as the physical form factor is compatible.
Q:
My network card is CX6 Q56 200G. Can I use an OSFP-800G-2xVR4 module to connect to a Q56-200G-VR4 module?
A:
OSFP 800G cannot be split into four connections to QSFP56 200G; because OSFP 800G is 100G per lane, while QSFP56 200G is 50G per lane. We recommend using the OSFP-400G-2×VR4 module to connect two Q56-200G-SR4 modules. Alternatively, you can use a CX7 Q112 interface network card with a Q112-400G-VR4 module to downgrade to 200G, then connect to the OSFP 800G module to achieve a four-port configuration.
