Description

Generic Compatible 400GbE QSFP-DD SR8 PAM4 FEC Optical Transceiver Module (850nm 100m MMF MTP/MPO )

400GbE QSFP-DD SR8 transceiver module is designed with 4x 50Gb/s PAM4 modulation for up to 100m over OM4 transmission multimode fiber. NADDOD 400GbE QSFP-DD SR8 Optical Transceiver supports eight electrical interface channels that operate in 50G PAM4 coding mode to produce 400G (8x50G) data rates. It is compliant with the IEEE 802.3bs protocol and the 400GAUI-8/CEI-56G-VSR-PAM4 standard. The transceiver can offer customers a wide variety of super high-density 400 Gigabit Ethernet connectivity options for data centers, high-performance computing (HPC) networks, enterprise core and distribution layers, and service provider applications.

Questions & Answers
Ask a Question
Q:
What is the modulation mode of QSFP-DD 400G SR8 transceiver?
A:
QDD-400G-SR8 transceiver adopts 8x50Gb/s PAM-4 modulation, "S" is the abbreviation of short, which means short distance transmission, and "8" means there are 8 optical channels.
Q:
What is the difference between QDD-400G-SR8 and OSFP-400G-SR8?
A:
The main difference is the package, QDD-400G-SR8 is the QSFP-DD form factor and OSFP-400G-SR8 is the OSFP form factor. OSFP: OSFP stands for "Octal Small Form Factor Pluggable", the electrical interface of the OSFP connector consists of 8 electrical channels with 50Gb/s each, for a total bandwidth of 400Gb/s. QSFP-DD: QSFP-DD stands for "Quad Small Form Factor Pluggable (QSFP) - Dual Density (DD)". The electrical interface of the QSFP-DD connector has eight electrical channels running at 50Gb/s per channel for a total bandwidth of 400Gb/s. The QSFP-DD form factor is similar to the QSFP form factor except that a second row of electrical contacts has been added to increase the number of high-speed contacts, and the electrical channels have been increased from four (in the QSFP) to eight (in the QSFP-DD).
Q:
What is the max transmission distance of the QDD-400G-SR8 transceiver?
A:
When matched with OM3 multimode fiber, the farthest transmission distance is 70m; with OM4 multimode fiber, the farthest transmission distance can reach 100m.
