Description

NVIDIA/Mellanox Compatible DAC 3m (10ft) 400Gb/s OSFP to 4x100Gb/s QSFP56 InfiniBand HDR Passive Copper Splitter Cable

NADDOD O4Q56-400G-CU3H is a passive Direct Attach Copper (DAC) cable with an OSFP-based twin-port 2x 200Gb/s connector to four QSFP56. DAC cables are the lowest-cost, lowest-latency, near zero power consuming, high-speed links available due to their simplicity of design and minimal components. Main use is linking Quantum-2 NDR InfiniBand switches to HDR100 switches, ConnectX-6/7 adapters, and/or BlueField-2/3 DPUs.

Questions & Answers

Ask a Question
Q:
If I only use one splitter of the 1-to-4 InfiniBand cable and leave the other splitters unconnected to the network card, will it affect the performance of the used splitter?
A:
No, it won't. Once the port is configured for splitting, the device internally recognizes four logical sub-ports. Each splitter corresponds to a separate logical sub-port, so they operate independently without interfering with one another.
Q:
Why are there no NDR AOCs?
A:
OSFP transceivers are big and heavy, which makes the fibers inside the AOC easy to break. A 2-splitter cable has 3 large transceiver ends, while a 4-splitter one has 5. This almost certainly increases the risk of fiber breakage during installation—especially for 30-meter AOCs.
Q:
What is the maximum transmission distance of the O4Q56-400G-DACH cable?
A:
The passive DAC can provide a maximum transmission distance of 3 meters.
