Description

Arista Compatible Coherent VCSEL & Broadcom DSP 400G QSFP-DD SR4 PAM4 850nm  MTP/MPO-12 OM4 100m Optical Transceiver Module

NADDOD Arista QDD-400G-SR4 compatible 400G QSFP-DD SR4 optical module is a multimode, four-channel (SR4) transceiver designed for 400 GbE links over up to 100 m of OM4 multimode fiber. It converts eight 50 Gb/s PAM4 electrical input channels into four 100 Gb/s PAM4 optical channels, operating at a nominal wavelength of 850 nm to deliver an aggregate data rate of 400 Gb/s.

The 400G QSFP-DD SR4 optical transceiver delivers ultra-high-density 400 Gigabit Ethernet connectivity for data centers and high-performance computing (HPC) networks. It can be connected to NICs with QSFP112 or OSFP ports and is well suited for short-reach interconnects between switches and network interface cards, supporting a wide range of device-to-device interconnection scenarios.

Questions & Answers

Ask a Question
Q:
Can OSFP ports use modules in QSFP-DD form factor, such as QDD-400G-SR4?
A:
OSFP and QSFP-DD are two completely different form factors, so QSFP-DD optical modules like QDD-400G-FR4, QDD-400G-SR4, QDD-400G-LR4 or QDD-400G-DR4 all these optical transceivers cannot be used in OSFP ports.
Q:
Can I interconnect a QSFP-DD 400G SR4 module on one end and a QSFP112 or OSFP 400G SR4 module on the other?
A:
Yes, the QSFP-DD/OSFP/QSFP112 only describe the physical form factor of the module and all three modules utilize 4x100G PAM4 for the optical side modulation mode.
Q:
What is the maximum transmission distance of QDD-400G-SR4 transceiver?
A:
With OM4 multimode fiber optic patch cable the maximum transmission distance is 100m.

This is our first time purchasing 400G modules, and they are even easier to deploy than I expected, with no packet loss at all.

We wanted to use this module on a QDD port switch to connect to an OSFP NIC, and it’s a perfect fit. These SR4 transceivers are working flawlessly on our switch, and we haven’t encountered any compatibility issues so far.
