Description

NVIDIA/Mellanox (Ethernet) Compatible 400G QSFP112 DR4 1310nm 500m PAM4 DDM MPO/MTP-12 APC SMF Linear-drive Pluggable Optics (LPO) Transceiver

The Q112-400LPO-DR4 is a cost-effective module with high performance, which is optimized for AI Datacenter, supporting data-rate of 4x112Gb/s PAM4 Optical interface and 4x112Gb/s PAM4 Electrical interface. Its transmission distance is up to 500m on single mode fibers. It replaces a retimed DSP data path with a linear data path, thus realizing lower power consumption and latency.

Product Highlights

DSP-Free 400G LPO Optics for Efficient AI Interconnect

Q112-400LPO-DR4 adopts a DSP-free linear architecture, reducing power consumption by approximately 50% (4.5W vs. 9.5W) compared with conventional 400G retimed optics. This simplified design reduces transmission latency and improves link efficiency, while also optimizing TCO through reduced cooling, power consumption, and infrastructure requirements. Designed for large-scale AI training clusters, it offers broad compatibility with mainstream RoCE devices for stable and efficient deployment.

Questions & Answers

Ask a Question
Q:
What is the main difference between DSP transceivers and LPO transceivers?
A:
DSP optical components use digital signal processing for error correction and equalization, whereas LPO transceivers rely on the host ASIC’s SerDes to handle these tasks, thereby eliminating the need for a DSP and reducing power consumption and latency.
Q:
Compared to DSP optical components, how much power can LPO save?
A:
LPO can reduce power consumption by 40–50%, saving several watts per module, which offers significant scalability in hyperscale environments.
Q:
What is the application of the Q112-400LPO-DR4 optical module?
A:
This module is primarily used for 400G QSFP112 NICs and connects to 800G switches. Compared to traditional DSP-based solutions, it significantly reduces system power consumption and latency, improving overall energy efficiency.
