Description

NVIDIA/Mellanox Compatible AEC 6m (20ft) Twin-port 2x400Gb/s OSFP Finned Top to 2x400Gb/s OSFP Finned Top InfiniBand NDR Active Electrical Cable

NADDOD OSFP-800G-AECH (Active Electrical Cable) provides stable transmission based on 8x100G PAM4 electrical channels, meeting the requirements of ultra-high bandwidth, low latency, and high signal integrity. The AEC incorporates active equalization and signal conditioning circuitry to ensure signal integrity and can extend copper cable distances up to 7 meters. This AEC features a lightweight, flexible structure and a highly reliable braided sheath design, making it suitable for critical scenarios such as 800G high-density interconnection within and between adjacent racks, AI training clusters, and Spine/Leaf architectures in cloud data centers. It provides a stable and efficient physical layer foundation for building future-oriented, ultra-large-scale computing networks.

Questions & Answers

Ask a Question
Q:
What's the difference between ACC, DAC, and AEC cables?
A:
①DAC (Direct Attach Cable) is passive, without any chips—low power but limited to short distances (usually ≤3m). ②ACC (Active Copper Cable) adds linear equalization/amplification chips, extending reach to 3–5m while keeping power low. ③AEC (Active Electrical Cable) includes a DSP-based retimer for stronger signal processing, supporting longer distances but with higher power and cost. The OSFP-800G-AECH sits between DAC and ACC, offering an ideal balance of cost, power consumption, and transmission distance.
Q:
What advantages do 800G AEC cables offer compared to 800G transceivers?
A:
For short-reach connections within 7m, 800G AEC cables offer lower power consumption, lower cost, and simpler cabling than transceivers. They are well suited for high-density environments requiring frequent insertion and removal, which makes them a cost-efficient solution for AI and HPC clusters.
Q:
What are the advantages of the braided sleeve used in AEC cables?
A:
The braided sleeve improves flexibility, heat dissipation, weight management, durability, and cable routing, making it ideal for high-density, high-speed interconnects.
