Description

NVIDIA/Mellanox Compatible ACC 4m (10ft) Twin-port 2x400Gb/s OSFP Finned Top to 2x400Gb/s OSFP Flat Top InfiniBand NDR Active Copper Cable

NADDOD OSFP-800G-ACCFTH is a 800Gb/s twin-port OSFP Finned Top (Octal Small Form factor Pluggable)-to-2x400Gb/s twin-port OSFP Flat Top Active Copper Cable (ACC) for 800G networking. An ACC is a passive DAC with a pre-emphasis equalizer IC included in each end, enabling cable lengths of up to 5 meters while maintaining very low-latency and very low-power at 1.5 Watts a per end. Every cable length is tuned to reduce signal noise and back reflections.

Questions & Answers

Ask a Question
Q:
What's the difference between ACC, DAC, and AEC cables?
A:
①DAC (Direct Attach Cable) is a passive copper cable with no chips, offering the lowest power consumption and cost but limited reach (typically ≤3m).
②ACC (Active Copper Cable) uses linear equalization and amplification to extend reach to 3–5m while maintaining relatively low power consumption.
③AEC (Active Electrical Cable) uses DSP-based retimers for stronger signal processing, enabling longer distances but with higher power and cost.
ACC sits between DAC and AEC, providing a balanced solution in terms of reach, power consumption, and cost.
Q:
What applications is the OSFP-800G-ACCFTH suited for?
A:
The OSFP-800G-ACCFTH has a finned top on one end and a flat top (RHS) on the other, designed for connecting 800G OSFP switches to DGX H100 servers or ConnectX-8 network cards.
Q:
How does cable gauge (AWG) affect ACC performance?
A:
Thicker wires (lower AWG numbers) reduce insertion loss, allowing longer distances or more stable signal transmission. However, thicker cables are less flexible and have a larger bend radius. Common ACC gauges like 26 AWG and 28 AWG are chosen based on the required transmission distance.
