What are the advantages of the AEC cable?

Traditional passive DAC copper cables suffer from severe signal attenuation as distances increase, typically used for short-distance transmissions within 3 meters. In contrast, the AEC cable features built-in retimers. These retimers adjust the entire signal twice: once at the beginning and once at the end of transmission. They clean, eliminate noise, and amplify the signal, ensuring a complete and nearly pristine signal. Therefore, when the connection distance is relatively short (less than 7 meters) but DAC is not suitable, AEC provides a viable intermediate option without the need for fiber optics.

What are the differences between OSFP-800G-AEC, OSFP-800G-ACC, and OSFP-800G-DAC?

OSFP-800G-DAC is a passive copper cable without active components in its connectors, providing direct electrical connections between corresponding cable ends with a maximum transmission distance of 2 meters, featuring extremely low latency and power consumption.
