The Q56-200G-CU*H contains eight high-speed copper pairs with data rates up to 50Gb/s per copper pair, and each QSFP56 port includes an EEPROM that provides product information that can be read by the host system. NADDOD provides efficient connectivity for short-haul interconnects, which enables higher port bandwidth, density and configurability at a lower cost, and reduces data center power requirements. In 200G short-haul (1-5m) device interconnects (e.g., servers to TOR switches), using 200G QSFP56 DAC high-speed cables is more price effective than 200G AOCs.

Because the AOC is hot-swappable, it is easy to install and replace, and enables higher port bandwidth, density and configurability at a lower cost, and reduces data center power requirements. However, AOCs are not suitable for cross-cabinet cabling because they carry modules on both sides, so they are generally used in interconnection scenarios where the distance is less than 30 meters.
