NADDOD OSFP-800G-2DR4XH Optical Transceiver Module is an InfiniBand and Ethernet 800Gb/s 2x400Gb/s Twin-port OSFP, 2xDR4/DR8 single mode, parallel, 8-channel transceiver using two, 4-channel MPO-12/APC optical connectors at 400Gb /s each. The parallel single mode, data center reach 8-channel (2xDR4/DR8) design uses 100G-PAM4 modulation and has a maximum fiber reach of 500-meters using 8 single mode fibers. The Twin-port 2xDR4/DR8 transceiver is a key innovation with two internal transceiver engines enabling 64-ports of 400Gb/s in a 32-OSFP cage. The OSFP-800G-2DR4XH is used in liquid-cooled and DGX-H100 systems.

Can OSFP 2×DR4 Finned-top modules interconnect with 800G 2×DR4 Flat-top modules?

Yes. The two modules share identical electrical and optical specifications. The only difference lies in their thermal design (Finned-top vs. Flat-top). They can be interconnected using two S2MPOA12FB fiber patch cables.

What is the difference between Flat top and Finned-top OSFP 800G 2xDR4 optical modules?

The Flat Top 800G OSFP module is mainly used in DGX H100 systems, where the 800G twin-port OSFP cages have internal heat sinks mounted on top of the cages, which requires the use of a flat-top optical module.The Finned Top optical module uses a top-mounted heat sink with fins to increase heat dissipation and improve performance and reliability in high-temperature environments, and is typically used in Quantum-2 air-cooled switches, where additional cooling is needed due to reduced airflow at the switch inlet.

What is the difference between OSFP224 800G DR4 and OSFP 800G 2DR4?

The OSFP224-800G-DR4H is a single-port, four-channel module with each channel running at 200G PAM4, primarily used for ConnectX-7 network cards, connecting to 1.6T dual-port modules. In contrast, the OSFP-800G-2DR4XH is a dual-port, eight-channel module with each channel running at 100G PAM4, designed for DGX H100 systems.
