NADDOD offers Mellanox MC220731V-030 compatible 30 meters (98ft) 56GBASE VPI QSFP+ to QSFP+ Active Optical Cable (AOC cable) for use in 56GGBASE Ethernet and InfiniBnad HDR system to provide power-efficient connectivity for short distance interconnects. It enables higher port bandwidth, density and configurability of reducing power requirement in the data centers and HPC (High Performance Computing ). My equipment model is Mellanox SX6025 36x QSFP+ FDR, considering the current demand for higher data throughput. Within the budget, I want to update the design of the whole group network. Can you help me to recommend the right product?
A:
Based on your equipment information, we recommend updating your entire 56G FDR solution with a combination of NADDOD 200G HDR products, NVIDIA Quantum QM8700/QM8790 switches and HDR NICs.The 200G HDR can not only adapt to HDR 200G and HDR 100, but also to 100G EDR, breaking the limitations of 100G EDR usage and meeting different rate requirements. Choosing 200G HDR also provides high throughput bandwidth and ultra-low network transmission latency that Ethernet cannot match.From a cost perspective, the price difference between 200G HDR AOC and EDR AOC is not significant. Compared to other architectures of the same type, HDR devices have a high port density, which not only saves a lot of upfront equipment costs but also reduces post-operations and maintenance costs.
Q:
What's the difference between QM8700 and QM8790 switches? Whether there is a difference in the selection of the cables?
A:
There is no difference in function and performance between QM8700 and QM8790. QM8700 is managed, and QM8790 is unmanaged (out-of-band management). NADDOD can provide 200G IB AOC and DAC cables that can be used with the two switches.

Are InfiniBand cables generally referred to AOC?

No, there are two kinds of InfiniBand cables: DAC(copper) and AOC (optical). NADDOD can provide InfiniBand FDR, EDR, HDR DAC, and AOC cables at super affordable prices and large stock.
